I attended my first American Illustration party last Thursday. This is also my first time chosen to appear in the American Illustration Book that will be distributed later this year, American Illustration 37. The party was held at the Angel Orensanz Center, which is housed in the oldest surviving synagogue building in New York City. It is quite the backdrop for the evening, see my pics below. I also ran into some old friends and made some new ones, it was a really fun evening showcasing some great illustration and photography.
My winning piece was an illustration from my series created for Atlantic Re:think to advertise the Ken Burns/Lynn Novick documentary The Vietnam War. Thanks again to American Illustration, the judges and Art Director Drew Campbell.
